Novak Djokovic Defeats R.Bautista Agut

Score- 6-4, 6-7, 7-6, 6-2

12-time grand slam Serbian had a tough draw in the third round of French Open 2018.

The former champion who had been struggling since the french open 2016 seems to be regaining his old form back as he battled through one of his toughest challenges lately when he defeated 13th ranked Spaniard in an almost 4-Hour Long Match consisting of long rallies.

Djokovic, after a long time, seemed to be in control of the match. He moves to the round of 16 for the 12th time in his career.

Alexander Zverev Defeats Damir Dzumhur 

Score- 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 7-5

In another high profile match, pre-tournament favorite Zverev managed to clinch the third round victory over 29th Ranked Dzumur but just.

Despite winning the first set with ease, the 21-year-old German lost the second and third set back to back.

He made a comeback in the third set but only via a tiebreaker. The final set was also quite a challenge for Zverev but he finally managed to see off Dzumhur to move into the round of 16.

Fernando Verdasco Defeats Grigor Dimitrov 

Score- 7-6, 6-2, 6-4

Another big name to exit the tournament early is 4th seeded Dimitrov.

The Bulgarian was in a terrific form when he entered the tournament. But he fell short to the 30th seed Verdasco in straight sets and failed to reach the round of 16.

Dimitrov fought well in the first set and lost only in a tiebreaker. But the Bulgarian failed to make an impact in the 2nd and 3rd set to lose the match in 3 straight sets.

Mihaela Buzarnescu Defeats Elina Svitolina

Score- 6-3, 7-5

In the upset of the day, 4th seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolona was ousted by 31st seeded Buzarnescu in straight sets. Despite showing quite a fight in the first set, the Ukrainian couldn’t make any impact in the second set and failed to make in the round of 16.
